Ex- London Fire Brigade, my operational career spanning 30 years’ service was located mainly in and around the East End of London. My last five years of service were within the Fire Investigation Team which involved close liaison with many outside agencies including: Police; Coroner’s Service; Scientific Services etc. I retired from the London Fire Brigade in 2008.
Since that time I have served as the Fire Safety Advisor / Fire Lead for a large NHS Trust. Primarily a mental health Trust, the organisation also now provides a wide range of community and in-patient services to the City of London; Hackney; Newham; Tower Hamlets; Bedfordshire and Luton. The building portfolio presently comprises in excess of one hundred and thirty buildings and includes a wide range of properties including: large mental health in-patient hospital facilities (as well as secure forensic sites); health centres / poly-clinics; administrative / office premises (both low and high rise) etc.
My current role incorporates responsibility for all aspects of fire safety management within the organisation including:
The development and implementation of staff training.
Devising appropriate strategies for emergency response and evacuation (including all relevant documentation).
Advice / guidance on building works / projects.
Fire Risk Assessments and Audits etc.
The management of the Fire Safety Team of the Trust.
The investigation of fires within the organisation with resulting reports assessing overall performance and making recommendations where appropriate.
Feedback to relevant committees (reports etc.).
Under my Limited Company banner, I have provided periodic services and advice to other organisations / companies including: St. Joseph’s Hospice (Hackney); a London-wide Nursery organisation; a number of Greenwich Schools; a large Housing Association and a University of London complex).

National Association of Healthcare Fire Officers (NAHFO)
Qualifications:
MSc. Healthcare Fire Safety (Loughborough University)
NEBOSH – National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management
NEBOSH – National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
Graduate of the Institution of Fire Engineers (GIFireE).
PAS 9980 course – Fire Risk Appraisal of external walls.
Trained ex-Fire Investigator with the LFB.
Numerous Fire Service qualifications including all obtainable promotion examinations.
Numerous Fire Service qualifications / residential courses – related to leadership; management; instructor training etc.
I also hold appropriate insurances for Professional Indemnity and Public Liability as well as current DBS certification.
