Kevin is an experienced Fire Risk Assessor and Fire Engineer with a strong background in residential, commercial, and complex-building fire safety. A former senior officer in the London Fire brigade, with extensive practical experience in carrying out Fire Risk Assessments (Type 1–4), fire strategy development, external wall assessments (FRAEW), and general fire-safety consultancy, Kevin brings a high level of technical competence and judgement to the role of fire-risk management.

Working across a broad range of building types—including HMOs, blocks of flats, care environments, mixed-use premises, and high-end residential dwellings. Kevin specialises in identifying fire hazards, evaluating building fire performance, and producing clear, proportionate recommendations based on relevant legislation and national guidance.

Kevin routinely applies Approved Document B, BS 9991, BS 9999, PAS 79, PAS 9980, BS 5839-6, BS 9251, and other key British Standards in fire engineering and risk assessment. Total fire Solution technical expertise includes compartmentation surveying, fire-stopping audits, fire door inspections, suppression-system evaluation (sprinklers and water-mist), and smoke-control principles. They also have proven experience producing detailed fire strategies, ASET/RSET evaluations, and fire-engineered justifications to support Building Control compliance.
